In 2008, there will be 6 international bands – well-known and new ones- here who will care for the right and good atmosphere and for your entertainment! There are, too:
♫ Dr. Jazz Company
A jazz formation from “Lübeck” in Germany
♫ Storyville Jazzband
The Storyville ´Jazzband was founded in 1959 and they come from Arnheim in the Netherlands. They belong to the oldest jazzbands in Europe. For a long time now, the band has been a permanent part of the traditional New Orleans Jazz Festival in the Netherlands – the name obliges
♫ Mary-Castle-Jazzband
The name of the band follows its place of birth: a district of Cologne called Cologne-Marienburg. Here, directly near the castle “Marienburg”, which gave the district its name in the second part of the 19th century, the band ame into being and has been developed at the beginning of the 21st century- as a delayed effect of the big bang. The Mary-Castle-Jazzband does not play – the reasons for this can be found in the members´ great average age- only in the typical cast of the English Dixieland during the time of Barber-Ball-Bilk in the fifties and sixties of the former century: trumpet, clarinet (saxophone) , trombone, banjo (guitar), bass (double and E- guitar), drums . They also play typical things for their age. Because of the individualism of these men, it is highly difficult to categorize them to a certain style; they are somehow New –Orleans-missionaries, old time – fetishists and Swing people. They play what the people and guests like.
♫ Hot House-Jazzband
A revival of the Dixieland from the Netherlands
♫ The strangers / “DIE FREMDEN” in German
This is band from Germany and they have been existing since 1962 and the spectators and listeners will see them playing Oldie-music at its best. Their repertoire: Elvis, Buddy Holly, Fats Domino, Everly Brothers, Jerry Lee Lewis, Platters, Beatles……and some more
♫ Ballroom Rockets
Authentic Rock´n ´Roll, Rockabilly and rhythm coming from Germany in the style of bands of the early fifties.
Their repertoire consists of well-known and less well-known Rock´n´Roll hits from Elvis to Chuck Berry, inclusively Blues and Rhythm and Blues by Willie Dixon up to Fred King.
The focus of the band are the treasures of the era of ROCKABILLY. There are titles by artists like Johnny Horten and Jack Earls which almost have fallen into oblivion, but which will be brought back from the dead by the Ballroom Rockets. They put them again on stage full of energy.
